Sources behind the Makarska guide

These sources explain city demand, area names, route structure, accommodation observations and the latest official Advent context. Every entry states what it cannot tell you.

City figures do not describe every neighbourhood

DZS and Tourist Board totals stay within their own reporting systems. Municipal areas validate names, not traveller boundaries. The beach page describes a corridor, not exact walking times.

What we use it for

City of Makarska Election Commission

Observed
Official local-council polling-area street assignment for the 2025 election; checked 2026-08-23
Scope
Street and address-number assignment for Ratac–Zelenka and Bili Brig–Gorinka local councils
What we use it for
The Commission assigns full streets and address-number ranges to the two separate councils. Joined to the ministry register, it maps 14 exact-Makarska categorised-object rows to Ratac–Zelenka and zero to Bili Brig–Gorinka.
What it does not prove
The street list does not enumerate private rentals, measure distance or terrain, prove current availability, or show that Bili Brig has no accommodation. Address changes after the source date require a new crosswalk.

HR-MAKARSKA-ZELENKA-UPU-2019high

City of Makarska

Observed
Adopted Zelenka 2 urban-plan amendment and 1:1000 existing-state/transport maps; checked 2026-08-23
Scope
The bounded Zelenka 2 planning area, not all of Zelenka or Ratac–Zelenka
What we use it for
The adopted maps expose spot heights that vary materially across the bounded plan area and label planned street grades, carriageways and sidewalks. They prove that straight-line distance is not a sufficient access test within this subarea.
What it does not prove
A planning map is not a live pedestrian survey. It does not prove that every planned segment is built, the current surface condition, a door-to-beach route, a universal gradient, walking time, noise or accommodation supply.

Scope
One named pedestrian-path intervention in Zelenka above Zadarska Street
What we use it for
The City records a procurement and award for arranging a pedestrian path in Zelenka above Zadarska Street, providing a specific public-path reference rather than a generic walkability claim.

HR-MINT-REGISTRY-2026high

Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Croatia

Observed
Registry snapshot dated 2026-06-30; checked 2026-08-26
Scope
National register of categorised hospitality and tourism objects; exact address rows for Makarska and Poreč
What we use it for
The workbook exposes named, categorised accommodation entries and exact addresses in both destinations. Its POPIS sheet contains 21 rows whose object address names Makarska and 42 whose object address names Poreč. A deterministic crosswalk against the City's 2025 local-council street list maps 14 of the 21 Makarska rows to Ratac–Zelenka and none to Bili Brig–Gorinka; the remaining seven sit outside those two councils.
What it does not prove
Rows are registry entries, not necessarily unique properties; the file does not cover every private rental, prove that Bili Brig has no accommodation, define editorial neighbourhood boundaries, or establish live availability, prices, quality, OTA coverage, bookings or affiliate attribution.

What we use it for
The provider city page resolves Makarska and surfaces multiple named hotels that also appear at exact Makarska addresses in the ministry register, including properties in central and western accommodation corridors.
What it does not prove
